V pořadí 61. ročník Mistrovství světa jezdců Formule 1 a 53. ročník Poháru konstruktérů. Začal 14. března prvním závodem na okruhu v Bahrajnu a skončil 14. listopadu na okruhu v Abú Dhabí. Sezony se účastnilo 12 týmů, proto vzniknul nový bodovací systém, podle kterého získávají body jezdci na prvních 10 místech (25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1).
