@Doc Taxon:, @Maimaid: Hi, thanks for your message. It is probably a sensible decision in the current situation. We will look forward to our remote cooperation. I'll let you know what sources will be available there. You will choose what you need and I'll scan or take a picture and send it to you. --Gampe (diskuse) 5. 3. 2020, 10:07 (CET)Odpovědět

@Gampe: Thank you very much for your very kind reaction. We were really looking forward to the editaton and regret that we cannot come. Actually, you or one of the other participants could help; I would be happy to get these two photos for my articles:
@Gampe: Thank you very much! --Maimaid (diskuse) 11. 3. 2020, 12:56 (CET)Odpovědět
  • the tomb of Hans Schreiber and his sister Marie, which is said to be at the cemetery of Volary (Hřbitov ve Volarech)
NevyřešenoNevyřešeno We did not find the grave, but in November "Editathon Volary 2" will be arranged, so we will try again.--Gampe (diskuse) 17. 3. 2020, 12:41 (CET)Odpovědět
@Gampe: Thank you for your efforts! I saw a photo of the tomb somewhere...I am going to send you the link to that page as soon as I'll find it again. There is a cross made of granite-stone (?) on the grave with the names Schreiber and Kichsling and data on the bottom part.
Has somebody taken a photograph of the monument for Charley Havlat? --Maimaid (diskuse) 19. 3. 2020, 18:01 (CET)Odpovědět
@Maimaid: It might be a good idea to put the photo requests on the list of requested photos once the Volary 2 page has been set up. One of the tabs is called "Fotografie", and it is the best place for such a list to keep it in mind. So now, we have 2 to list:
  1. a photograph of the monument for Charley Havlat
  2. the tomb of Hans Schreiber and his sister Marie, which is said to be at the cemetery of Volary (Hřbitov ve Volarech) --Czeva (diskuse) 20. 3. 2020, 16:45 (CET)Odpovědět
I found an old photograph of his tomb here and here (page 17, top, on the right side) --Maimaid (diskuse) 20. 3. 2020, 23:39 (CET)Odpovědět
And it would be great if someone could find out whether I am allowed to scan the portrait-photo of Hans Schreiber from this article and upload it to Commons without copyright violation (I don't know in which year the photograph was taken (he died in 1936), and the photographer is unknown).
@Maimaid:In my opinion, photography is in the public domain. But it would be polite to ask Mr. Fritz Pfaffl for permission.--Gampe (diskuse) 8. 3. 2020, 07:39 (CET)Odpovědět
@Gampe: @Conny: Thank you for your answer, Gampe! Please be so kind and inform user Conny about this, because he is going to write the article about Hans Schreiber. Best regards, --Maimaid (diskuse) 8. 3. 2020, 11:42 (CET)Odpovědět
Thank you very much in advance! Best regards, wishing you a successful event! --Maimaid (diskuse) 5. 3. 2020, 12:18 (CET)Odpovědět

Engelbert Ritter[editovat zdroj]

Dear @Gampe:, I began a translation of the Czech article about Engelbert Ritter into German, but I fear that he does not fullfill the criteria of relevance of the German Wikipedia, so that the article would be deleted soon after publishing it. Is there more material about him and his work available? Up to now, we just have one piece, the abbot's chair (Engelbert Ritter je autorem opatského křesla, které vytvořil pro opata vyšebrodského kláštera Bruno Josefa Pammera), that made him famous, but nothing more. Thank you for your help! --Maimaid (diskuse) 10. 3. 2020, 21:34 (CET)Odpovědět

I am sorry, but the resources that are listed are the only ones we have so far. If Svenkaj didn't find anything else, it would hardly be found. I wrote to the South Bohemian wikipedians and asked them to take a photograph of the chair.--Gampe (diskuse) 17. 3. 2020, 12:39 (CET)Odpovědět
@Maimaid, Gampe: I confirm what Gampe tells. I have chosen the article as I believe to have a rather good experience in searching sources concerning persons living in Bohemia in 19th-20th centuries. I have checked the scanned historical periodics and books on Czech servers (both Czech and German languages), as well as the Austrian ANNO server. So, the existence of Engelbert Ritter is confirmed by his birth and death records, also his work and position in the Vyšší Brod monastery is obvious. I did not find any other evidence of his work, with exception of the abbot's chair you mention. (The photo of the chair is available in the reference, but not free for general publishing.) This is why I have marked the article Engelbert Ritter as "Pahýl" (it means an article with missing important information) hoping that it might be completed later. I still believe that some German sources which I do not know may complete the picture. Sorry for the poor result. Best regards--Svenkaj (diskuse) 17. 3. 2020, 16:02 (CET)Odpovědět
Dear @Gampe, Svenkaj:, thank you very much for your help! So I am going to wait for a while and see whether we'll get a photograph of the abbot's chair. I already tried to find sources in German, too, but I wasn't succesful. Best regards --Maimaid (diskuse) 17. 3. 2020, 22:25 (CET)Odpovědět
