Jirka Král a Julka na přednášce ve škole

Be Safe Online is a non-profit project, developed by Jiří Král, an influencer, and Avast, a technology company. The project is aimed to teach students of primary schools about cybersecurity.[1][2][3]

In March 2020, the Be Safe Online project launched an online interactive course that teaches children how to stay safe online in a funny way.[4]

Project history[editovat | editovat zdroj]

The project was officially launched in March 2018. The project started as a countrywide competition for lectures with the influencer Jirka Král. Each month, primary schools from a selected region in the Czech Republic competed for a visit of Jirka Král and his lecture about safety. During the workshop, the children learned how to avoid risks associated with using the Internet and modern technologies. Simultaneously, tutorial videos and an interactive channel on Instagram were created.

In March 2020, the Be Safe Online project launched an interactive online course which teachers can use in classes. Czech influencers who support this educational project together with Jirka Král, Gejmr and Alkan, appear in the course. The course focuses on prevention in online safety and contains topics like safe communication and making friends online, safety in online gaming or online frauds.

Since July 2020, the Be Safe Online workshop has been available online in Slovakia, where it is supported by influencers Matěj Slažanský (Selassie) and Kelohap.[5][6]

Cooperation and awards[editovat | editovat zdroj]

The Be Safe Online project runs under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Police of the Czech Republic, and closely cooperates with Kamil Kopecký and the E-Safety project, developed by the Centre for the Prevention of Risky Virtual Communication at the Faculty of Education of the Palacký University.

In 2020, the project supported an educational campaign accompanying the Caught in the Net documentary, concerning cyber grooming. The online course topics, in turn, followed this documentary, created by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová.

The project was also awarded numerous awards, including SDGs Awards 2019, Effie Awards 2019 and WebTop100.
