AMI Digital Index is a sociodemographic research project that has been annually mapping the use of social networks in the Czech Republic since 2017, and in Slovakia since 2021. The research is conducted using the CAWI method on a sample of more than 1,000 respondents aged 15 and older from the online population in each of the surveyed countries.

Data collection is provided by the research agency STEM/MARK, and the author and processor of the research is the company AMI Digital. The research takes place every year, usually in the second quarter, with the latest data collection occurring between April 29 and May 6, 2024.

In recent years, the analysis of results has focused primarily on year-over-year comparisons and trends in the use of social networks in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It also compares the approach and consumer habits of Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X, and the so-called Baby Boomers in relation to social networks. Since 2023, the research has also been monitoring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications by the Czech population.

Selected findings in 2024

The results of the 8th edition of the research revealed, among other things, that the 80 % of the Czech online population uses some of social networks every day. The vast majority of them use a mobile phone for this, with 82% of respondents preferring it for accessing social networks.

Compared to 2023, the average time the Czech users spent on social networks decreased slightly, from 147 to 144 minutes per day. Users from Generation Z spent the most time on social media, averaging 210 minutes a day.

Year-over-year, there has been an increase in the use of AI-based text applications among consumers, rising from 30 % to 39 % of the online population. [[Kategorie:Social media]] [[Kategorie:Market survey]]
