He was born in Saint-Gratien (Val-d'Oise) on the 18 July 1888 as shown by his birth registration act : see View 153/386 (n° 60).
The text says "l'an mil huit cent quatre vingt quatre" (1884), but it is a mistake ; the acts 59 and 61 (and the other ones) are correctly from "mil huit cent quatre vingt huit" (1888).
His father was born in 1855 in Krakov (the site Geni says.
