Deutsch: Wappen der Stadt Unna
„Das Wappen zeigt in einem silbernen (weißen) Schild eine mehrtürmige, rote Stadtbefestigung, deren mittlerer, mit einem Spitzdach versehenen Torturm beiderseits mit einer goldenen (gelben) Fahne besteckt ist.“
Die Fahnen zeigen in Gold (gelb) einen in drei Reihen vierfach rot-silbern (weiß) geschachten Balken. Die Farben deuten auf die Wappenfarben der früheren Landesherren der Stadt Unna, der Grafen von der Mark, hin. Es könnte aber auch ein Hinweis auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit der Stadt Unna zur Hanse sein, da die Farben rot-weiß gemeinhin als die Farben der Hanse gelten. [1]
Datum Am 13. November 1967 verlieh der Innenminister von Nordrhein-Westfalen der Stadt Unna das Recht zur Führung eines eigenen Wappens.
