Popis

The engraving shows a woman with a helmet, a bow and a quiver. It is Skaði from Norse mythology.

In the bottom left corner is written "W. Meyer X.A." meaning that the engraving was created at W. Meyers xylografiska anstalt, an engraving company owned by Wilhelm Meyer (1844-1944). In the lower right corner is written "LBH SC", meaning that the engraver was Ludvig Bernhard Hansen (1856 - 1933). Somewhat above this signature is written SALTZA, meaning that the original artist was Carl Fredrik von Saltza (1858 - 1905)

The image list on page 468 in the book describes this image as Skade.

Sander's Edda was published in 1893, placing its entire contents in the public domain in the United States. More than 70 years have passed since the death of the artist and the xylographer, ensuring public domain status in Sweden.
