Deutsch: Doctor Faustus und sein Pudel, mit Studenten pokulierend in Auerbachs Keller zu Leipzig. Tafelbild (Öl auf Holz) ca. 130 x 200 cm (um 1625). Unbekannter Künstler. Standort: Auerbachs Keller in Leipzig. Inschrift: VIVE, BIBE, OBGRAECARE, MEMOR FAUSTI HUIUS ET HUIUS POENAE. ADERAT CLAUDO HAEC – AST ERAT AMPLA – GRADU. 1525 (Lebe, trinke, schwärme, aber denke dabei an diesen Faust hier und an seine Strafe. Sie kam mit hinkendem Schritte (Anspielung auf Mephisto!), aber sie war schrecklich.)
