Полотнище с соотношением ширины к длине 2:3, составленное тремя горизонтальными полосами голубого, жёлтого, красного цветов, имеющими ширину 1/3, 1/3 и 1/3 соответственно. По центру жёлтой полосы помещено изображение герба муниципального образования город Заозёрный — „В лазоревом поле, червлёное опрокинутое остриё с вписанным серебряным свободным остриём; поверх всего чёрные лопата и кирка накрест, поверх которых три золотые головки колоса“. По центру красной полосы белыми буквами нанесено название муниципального образования.
