| Popis | A Vought F8U-1 Crusader of fighter squadron VF-103 Sluggers landing on the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59) in 1958/59 (it is probably a touch-and-go landing, as no tailhook is visible). VF-103 was assigned to Carrier Air Group Ten (CVG-10) aboard the Forrestal for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 2 September 1958 to 12 March 1959. The "OO"-number ("double nuts") on the Crusader indicates that this is the personal aircraft of the Commander Air Group (CAG). An Allen M. Sumner-class or Gearing-class destroyer is visible in the background. |
